New Album Release "Emotional Sushi"

Image
Last week I released my first album containing songs that all use my lyrics ! I have had cuts on other artist's albums and EPs, but I thought it would be fun, and good for promotion, if I created an album with some of my songs written for tv and film.  Hence the title, Emotional Sushi, as songs for tv have to convey a strong emotion in order to increase the emotion in a scene. Many of these songs have featured in TV shows already, including NBC's Golf Channel. You can listen to the songs here: Emotional Sushi album on cdbaby Emotional Sushi is available to download from cdbaby, iTunes, Amazon and many more. You can also stream it on Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music etc. I will have a hard copy CD available in the very near future, which will be for sale on Amazon. All the songs are available to license, easily and with no fuss. Track 3 "No More Being Nice" is courtesy of Black Toast Music, California. Album title: Emotional Sushi Artists: Futur...

Six Songs In New LA Library

I rarely kiss and tell publicly (or even privately for that matter), but yesterday was a good day for me with regards to library submissions, and I truly want to thank my co-writers for their amazing musical interpretations of my words. A 'very romantic' newly established upper end library accepted 3 more tracks on which I am the co-writer (lyrics obviously), alongside the 3 tracks of mine they already have since they started.  Thanks to my talented co-writers things are continually getting better and better. The songs in this library are: Heart of Stone - with Robbie Hancock From This Burn - with Robbie Hancock Washing In Washing Out - with Ethan Okamura & Louise Goldberg Better Off Blue - with Steven Guiles Blanket of Love - with Steve Collom and Dave Walton This Is The End - with Michelle Lockey I met all of these co-writers through Taxi Independent A&R, and many of these tracks were originally written for the amazing songwriting group GYAWS (Get Your A...

'Blanket Of Love' - new co-write with Dave Walton & Steve Collom

A 'Taxi friend', Dave Walton, asked me last year if I'd like to write some lyrics for his daughter's wedding, to be precise the father/daughter dance song for the wedding reception.  Naturally I said yes, as I am ever the romantic and this was a wonderful gesture. The song grew and developed, and we asked Steve Collom to collaborate with us on melody and to sing the song.  Eventually the finished track was used at the wedding - so romantic ! Post wedding, we have tweaked and edited a bit, and are now ready to let the track loose on the world !  It has been purposely written to suit romantic contemporary  film & tv uses, rather than a radio friendly hit song. It's currently still non exclusive, and all licensing inquiries are welcome. Listen to Blanket Of Love on SoundCloud HERE or here...

Placement on NBC's Golf Channel

Just found out that I have a placement on NBC, on the golf channel !  It's my first placement on one of the big three USA channels, so it feels like I've taken the next step up in my career path. This track is a collaboration with my good friend Robbie Hancock.   It's an instrumental piece from one of our songs called "From This Burn".  It starts at 30:53 if you want to check it out here ---> NBC Golf Channel and here is our full song --->   "From This Burn" on Soundcloud The song "From This Burn" is also on Robbie's latest album "Shine", which is available in iTunes, Amazon etc. Hard work and never, ever giving up, works !

I am really happy that Canadian singer/songwriter Robbie Hancock has included 2 songs that I co-wrote with him on his newest album/EP, released just yesterday, entitled " Shine ". The songs are " Our Side Of The Sun " and " From This Burn ", both of which were great fun to write. The album contains five other tracks of modern indie folk music at it's best, and is available from Robbie's website , as well as iTunes, Amazon , Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Pla y. If you would like to listen to snippets from the album tracks, or maybe buy some of the music, here are a couple of links... 'Our Side Of The Sun' ft Robbie Hancock

I was recently lucky enough to co-write with  Robbie Hancock  of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The amazing result was " Our Side Of The Sun ", a sunny summer love song to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The song was originally written for the Facebook  GYAWS song-writing group , but as we liked it so much we decided to produce it fully  for film & tv licensing .  I also have to say that Robbie is a sheer joy to work with - very easy going, encouraging and positive at all times.  Hopefully there will be many more songs where this one came from ! If you are interested in licensing this song, please contact Robbie Hancock Productions at  robbiejhancock@gmail.com ,  or Amanda Anderson at  sheeaunmusic@gmail.com The  lyrics  are posted after the SoundCloud widget. LYRICS Verse 1 I like the way you nestle in to my mind Your smiling eyes they draw me in so tight So here we are with all this warmth in our hearts...

'Walk Away' ft Bamtone (Briand Melanson)

A recent co-write of mine, entitled 'Walk Away', was accepted by a top Canadian Production Music Library within 2 days of being completed.  Made my month !  Well almost, because my very first grandchild was born mid February. 'Walk Away' was co-written with the ultra talented Briand Melanson aka Bamtone, who is himself from Toronto, Canada. I really enjoyed writing the lyrics and working on this song with Briand - it was a lot of fun and the process wonderfully smooth. Thank you Bam !

'This Is The End' ft Michelle Lockey and Nathan Nasby

If you like extremely sad songs, this one is for you... It's about divorce or a long term relationship breaking up, and that final moment when all the papers are signed and you're walking away, when you realise that this is it, there is nothing else and you are never going to have those good times with the person you loved so much, ever again... But you still know you have to walk away for your own sanity. Or something like that. I initially wrote the lyrics, without Michelle in mind as a composer, for an online songwriting group I belong to which has weekly themes to write and record to.  It's called G-YAWS - Get Your Ass Writing Songs.  Once the words were written, I asked Michelle if she'd like them and she accepted (she also belongs to the group).  She then composed the music and shared her ideas with me the next day. After a slight bit of re-writing, the first master recording was finalised, with the whole process taking only 5 days.   Michelle herself ...

'In The Dark (A Tale of Love)' ft Michelle Lockey

One of the very first musicians I started to collaborate with was the wonderful  Michelle Lockey , from Maryland, USA.  We met in an online songwriting and recording group which originated from a group of Taxi members/friends. A few months ago the weekly theme was 'Creepy Lurker', which created some very unusual songs !  It was for this theme that I wrote the lyrics for 'In The Dark (A Tale of Love)'.  Michelle picked them up and created the amazingly creepy melody that suits the words so well.  Her voice drips of ghost stories in the dark and horror movies where you hide behind a cushion!  Perfect. We are aiming the song at the  film/tv market .  I have visions of a rapist stalking his victim, talking to her in his head and creating a (false) romantic relationship in his mind.  The stuff nightmares are made of... In The Dark (A Tale of Love) LYRICS Verse 1 I'm the shadow you catch in the corners of your mind, and you think ...

'Why Can't You See' ft Nathan Nasby

'Why Can't You See' is partly drawn from my own life experiences, and partly from my endless observing of others - the same as all writers I suppose... It's about the longing and helplessness that surrounds someone who loves another so much, but who's love is invisible and isn't reciprocated.  Unrequited love at it's most painful. It is a collaboration between  Nathan Nasby  and myself.  When I gave Nathan the lyrics, I did not expect the song that came back to me.  Nathan is an extremely talented musician, with the most sublime, yet strong, voice, and composing skills second to none.  I was blown away with the beauty of his music. Why Can't You See Copyright @ Nathan Nasby & Amanda J Anderson 2014 Lyrics :  Amanda J Anderson Music, vocals, piano, production :  Nathan Nasby LYRICS Verse 1 I watch you sit and stare Listless eyes chasing rainbows As the wind combs your hair, just a little I know your heart doesn't see Me ...
